I’ve been dreadful today after reading all these articles on how hard it is to promote a new website. I just put together a website for charity donations and submitted the url to Google. Don’t think people will ever find it. I’m planning on doing the rest: submitting to other search engines, directories, doing link exchanges, writing articles……………………….., but is my hard work really going to pay off? It’ll take months? Years? If I’m lucky?

to submit it twice under each name or will googles crawlers and other search engines already know it? In plain english do I have to do all this work all over again. (And yes I know google likes it when you submit manually)

I’m asking this because i’ve noticed that with some yahoo! servises/sites, they can’t be found anywhere else. For instance, I have a yahoo! group, which is only listed on the yahoo! search, despite the fact that i’ve submitted it to several others. So, i wonder if the same would be true for geocities (esp. the free version)? Or, does the fact that it’s free have something to do with it?

Bottom line, i just want to know if yahoo! witholds its free sites from other search engines? I’d like to know soon, before i waste my time creating a site, which no-one will know about!

Hi, All

I’m from India and I’m optimizing an indian travel and hotel booking site. This site has PR3 and site ranks in Google First Page Position for various targeted keywords (many of them are quality keywords for travel and many of them of hotels booking related keywords). In spite of being ranked for targeted keywords we get very few bookings from outside India(only 2-3 per month).

On checking statistics of my site I came to the conclusion that my website is on top only on Google.com and Google.co.in and not many pages of my site rank for the keywords its been optimized for (Only domain name get rank for hotels specific keywords).

Any good SEO suggestions for pages to rank well?

My main concern to get rank in other locations of Google and other search engines. How I can get more booking from outside india ?

From other google locations like…google.co.uk, google.fr…etc?

Please give me suggestions. Thanks
