I have just created a website using the free site I have with my internet service provider. I registered a domain name through yahoo. Is it better to forward the domain name masked or unmasked? If it is masked how do I submit the site to search engines?
I want to know if it’s possible to purchase a domain name, put up a website and get ranked for a set of keywords in under a month. People talk of the Google Sandbox and I understand that it’s in a search engine’s best interest to make sure that a website will "stand the test of time" before ranking them well in their rankings, but what of sites that are brand new, but have valuable information on them?
I know you can buy your way into directories and to the top of search engines with PPC marketing. However, this question is about organic or natural search engine rankings. What legitimate principles must one adhere to in order to rank quickly. Also, are there any new techniques that could help out? I’ve heard about using blogs, rss feeds and press releases as ways to quickly promote your site. Any more help?
True, ranking may depend upon many variables, including the competition for your keyword phrase. So…let’s take away the time frame and just list the things necessary to get INDEXED quickly rather than ranked well. Some say that Google won’t even show signs of fully indexing a site until several months down the road.
I own a domain name that I am currently selling. In order to increase traffic and hits I plan on making a website for the domain name but the only contant I will have are to links to other sites that are established. I do not plan on charging these other sites for any traffic that my site may bring them.
Is this something I can do with out any reprocussions from the other sites?
Example: If I register the domain name www.hongkonghotels.com, will my website show up in the top ten if a user searches on the keywords "hong kong hotels"? (This is just an example, I do not own that url.)
Or are there other tricks that websites with different urls could use to achieve a much higher page ranking?

I’m from India and I’m optimizing an indian travel and hotel booking site. This site has PR3 and site ranks in Google First Page Position for various targeted keywords (many of them are quality keywords for travel and many of them of hotels booking related keywords). In spite of being ranked for targeted keywords we get very few bookings from outside India(only 2-3 per month).
On checking statistics of my site I came to the conclusion that my website is on top only on Google.com and Google.co.in and not many pages of my site rank for the keywords its been optimized for (Only domain name get rank for hotels specific keywords).
Any good SEO suggestions for pages to rank well?
My main concern to get rank in other locations of Google and other search engines. How I can get more booking from outside india ?
From other google locations like…google.co.uk, google.fr…etc?
Please give me suggestions. Thanks
I’m a total newbie when it comes to having a personal presence on the Net. Until now, I’ve never had time to have a Myspace or Facebook page or anything, & have only ever used my computer to write stuff, send emails & google stuff. Now I’m studiously researching ethical & effective ways to make money online & my first order of business was to create my own Domain Name. I was able to submit it to the Google Search engine with ease. But every time I go to Yahoo to try to submit my new URL, I get taken to a page where I’d have to spend 9 to submit my URL to the Yahoo directory. Isn’t there a way to just submit your new domain name to the Yahoo engine for free like I did with Google? If so, can anyone give me a simple step-by-step guide how to do it? Thanks.
i submitted website to google for two weeks but its still not showing any keyword result. its just showing when i search my site domain name. is it crawled.
So I made a web site about a year ago because I purely wanted to make money. After a few months I realized that I truly enjoyed blogging for the fun of it and for sharing information. So recently I bought my own domain name from Google but my traffic took a dive. (granted the best I ever got was something like 25 people a day on average) So how do I get more traffic?
If you read my site ( http://www.teencollegeeducation.org/ ) or about me page then you will see that I am still a high school student so I do not have the time to post things every day, but I try to post something every week. I feel though that the things that I post are timeless, so is is really necessary to post that frequently? I realize that most people will just say yes, but how else can I get traffic?
