Is Google.com so dominant in the search engine market that there is no room for any new competition?

No, if someone really wanted to be best, it’s possible.
Metasearch engines are better than google by-the-way.

nah.. if that were the case. MSN & Yahoo’s Search Engines right along with Excite and all the other search engines would be wiped off the face of the internet if that were the case.

Google is huge but I wouldn’t say nobody could compete! The sky is the limit theres always a better way.

They are only big because the majority of people are too lazy to use a different search engine!
You are here on Yahoo Answers, not Google Answers, so why not use Yahoo as your search engine? Hmm?

There is always room for competition in any industry. As Google gets bigger and bigger it will no longer be everyone’s favorite. Instead it will be the company everyone loves to hate. Look at the history of Microsoft and IBM – same deal.
