Yes, it is normal due to changes that you made. Have you tried going back to the way you had it before? Google and all other engines will increase and decrease rankings based on your TITLE which is incredibly important, meta tags are important but dont see to have the weight they used to.

Listen what I would do ASAP is start using Web 2.0 ASAP!

1. Use SocialMarker.com and start bookmarking your site (all pages and focus on only the "Money word" for each page)

2. Build some Squidoo, Hubpages, WordPress Blogs and so on… Fill it up with quality content and have links pointing back to your "Money SIte"

3. Make Videos and submit them to all the Video Sites

** Quick Tip:: When filling in the Description always start it off with "http://yourwebsite.com" so that you will have a live link pointing to your site and it will be clickable

** Another Tip:: Save the video in different formats and re-submit using different keywords for each submission (different format=different video to "video sites"

4. Start writing articles and submitting them to build up Backlinks, get traffic for Free and it will most likely rank high in Search Engines

5. Write a Press Release, it only needs to be 2-3 paragraphs and again will generate traffic, is Free to submit and will build up links..

MAKE SURE THAT when you link to your site, you are using "ANCHOR TEXT" which means, if you don’t know, instead of just placing your web address, you need to make your "Keywords" the link and this way you will rank for those keywords. Now you can’t HTML on many of these solutions but for Article Directories and Press Releases you can (for the most part)…
