How long is a piece of string?
Have you noticed there is never a simple answer in this category?
Unfortunately, I can’t tell you it’s 200 visitors a day or 2000 visitors a day or any other fixed number. Sorry about that!
What I can give you is a general principle that might help guide you.
That is: The more their product costs, the less buyers they expect. Companies selling $24,000 cars doesn’t need to sell nearly so many as a company that makes toy cars; plastic surgeons don’t need to sell as many operations as plastic bottle manufacturers need to sell bottles; companies who build cruise liners need to sell less than ones who make paper drawer liners etc.
So on the whole, high unit cost items need fewer buyers so they will accept lower traffic. Low unit cost items need more buyers so they expect higher traffic.
BUT also remember that millions of people go looking for common household items (like pencils, notebooks, calendars and ari fresheners) so for them, your traffic needs to be made up of just about any section of the population. Most people need these items.
On the other hand, if you are trying to sell high end sports cars, your target group is much smaller – probably affluent middle aged men. If your site is about leg waxing, your 50000 daily visitors will probably contain a tiny fraction of affluent middle aged men – so, advertisers won’t want to advertise with you no matter how much traffic you have.
On the other hand, if your site is sports-cars-for-middle-aged-men.com, you will only need a small amount of traffic because it is highly targeted traffic.
Does that help?
There’s a free course that helps you think about understanding affiliate and other marketing ideas over here.

The affiliate master course is not only about affiliate programs – it also covers targeted traffic and marketing ideas.

Of course that the big advertisers will demand a huge traffic to your website. I think that 5000 visitors a day will do the job an interest the advertisers.
If you haven’t yet this numbers, try to use tactics and systems that will bring you the massive traffic.
Visit http://trafficexplosionsystem.com – It is a very useful system that can help you to "woo" the advertisers easily.
Wish you luck!

a lot. if you don’t have many traffic you will only waste your ads space with advertiser that would only pay you money after making sale or lead. making money is not easy so don’t expect getting 100 to 200 traffic would be enough. you need to target for 500 to 1000 daily traffic. if you need some ideas about getting traffic you can check out of my site.

Depends on the advertiser and how much money they are willing to spend… to get the big guys you’ll need over 5,000 unique per day… to get the little guys, 100+ unique per day will do IMO. I use http://pixelspotlight.com to help boost my traffic…best $10 I ever spent.
