How do I increase traffic and visitor number to my website?
Ive recently launched a brand new photography website and would like to try and increase the number of hits on my site.
I have previously run my own website but it took months for it to get listed on google.
Im no web expert but do have a basic understanding of meta tags etc. Can anyone advise of a quick and easy way please???

Well, as you know, there are a tons of photography sites out there.
First off, you should have some copy that talks about the types of photos you specialize in. Use keywords that are relevant to your content.
Submit your site to the search engines, so you dont have to wait for them to be spidered.
Don’t overstuff your keywords.
Maybe promote your photography on social networking sites like facebook.com.
Publishing a blog can help with the fresh content.
If you have a niche, exploit that. The more unique and rare content you have, the easier it is to place with keywords. In other words, focus on detail.

Post your website in digg.com, stumbleupon.com, technoratti, reddit etc. You may also post a link of you website on the facebook.. That would surely bring traffic to your site.

I try my best my friend. There’s a lot of things that you have to do to get traffic.
1. Submit your web to search engine
2. Submit your web to web directories
3. Join forum
4. If you have money, you can buy traffic
5. Playing around to others website and leave comment

Work very hard, the most important part is search engine optimization, good content, nice design, etc.
Some says that it at least need 6 months – 1 year before seen any result. So be patient.
Getting hits is one thing. Most of us can get hits all day. You can even use those surf for clicks sites.
BUT, what does that do for you. Yeah, you get clicks, but they ARE NOT targeted traffic hits. You want targeted traffic. The fastest way, is through PPC Pay Per Click…but, if you don’t know how to do it right, it can be a costly lesson.
The next best thing is to get listed high in Google for the specific keywords your site is focused on. This brings a lot of targeted traffic.
Getting listed higher in Google is everyone’s goal, and through, article writing and submitting to article directories, using social bookmarks, I use onlywire .com. These all help exposure, and give you backlinks to your site, which in turn helps you rank higher in Google for your tageted keywords.
Now, for an added big boost, you want your backlinks to be of high quality, and having a high page rank, which in turn feeds to your site, giving you more juice in Google, or any search engine.
This is SEO help, not spammy, not full of tricks, just good internet knowledge.
