How do I increase my websites traffic?
I have been posting my site’s link all over the net on similar sites. I also put keywords/meta tags on my site.
I just want to know what else I can do to get more traffic as well as get a higher google ranking.

Online marketing is vast and there is so much you can do. One method which works for one may not work for other. You can try these proven white hat strategies:
* basic SEO is must
* article marketing
* press releases
* forums, discussion groups etc (yahoo answers, SUN)
* blogs (ones where your target audience frequently visit)
* social networks (facebook etc)
* online classifieds (craigslist etc)
* social bookmarking (redit, stumble, etc)
* word-of-mouth techniques to spread the word on products like tell-a-friend widget from SocialTwist

I get a handful of hits a day from directories. Most of them are niche directories that rank for some of the text in their page. In addition, there are some niche directories that are widely used by people interested in the niche. I get as much as 10 hits a day from some of them. Not a lot, but some of the traffic will stick, some will give me natural links, and of course the SEO benefit is huge from a directory site that ranks for keywords in it’s niche.

Try with PPC on both yahoo and Google, you’ll get traffic as well as sales, depends on your budget and are you ready to spend some money for PPC.
